Data Science and SaaS Development Career Opportunity (DRAFT)

Excellent opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a rapidly growing California start-up SaaS company providing sustainability intelligence systems to cities, counties, local government agencies, and their service providers. This is a remote work opportunity with the option to live anywhere in the U.S. 

Prefer 1-3+ years of experience but demonstrated proficiency of required skills is a sufficient substitute.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

Data Management and Quality Assurance:

• Evaluate large datasets for quality and accuracy,
• Develop and implement data cleanup measures,
• Maintain records of original data and corrected data,
• Ensure consistency with data quality standards,
• Collaborate with other team members to understand data requirements and implement solutions,
• Create and maintain documentation of all processes and procedures,
• Support the development and maintenance of enterprise data quality initiatives,
• Continuously improve data quality processes and procedures.
  
  

Coding and Data Integration: 

• Assist with coding associated with onboarding new accounts  
• Import and connect datasets to the database on the server and customer UI.
• Create or edit, and test reports code
• Perform data and functionality quality checks on customer portals
  
  

Work Skills:

• Ability to perform data quality activities (data quality rule creation, profiling and deployment, edit checks, identification of issues, root cause analysis, value case analysis, remediation planning),
• Spreadsheet manipulation/data wrangling,
• Experience in cleaning and validating large datasets,
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail,
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment,
• Knowledge of visualization tools such as Power BI and Google (Looker) Data Studio,
• WordPress experience helpful but not required,
• AWS experience helpful but not required.
